rubiconqueen Pursued by CareMarie

* Author Name: rubicon_queen (Megan)

* Stories: A Crimson Change, More

CareMarie: Tell us a little bit about yourself:
Megan: I am 25 and currently a stay at home mom of two little girls and I am married to the best man in the world. I still do some part time work at a law firm, but mostly my days are filled with mommy madness. I have a huge family (and extended farily) that I absolutely love. I am also one of the lucky few who loves their Mother in Law. I have 13 nieces and nephews, but that number is bound to grow.

I have an unhealthy obsession with reading. I have an entire wall of books at home. My hubby bought me a Nook for Christmas and I already have over 20 books on it, half of which I've already read. And on top of all that, I have my daily fan fic updates that I read.

I am also a big fan of tattoo's. It's just another addiction for me. I have 5 so far, 3 of which have been added to, so I have really been under the gun a dozen times. I tease my husband about the fact that he only has one tatoo while I have so many.

I love being outdoors. Camping, hunting, fishing, four-wheeling, wakeboarding. I love it all.

(I also have also have a not so secret obssesion with Kellan Lutz's abs.)

CareMarie: How did you get introduced into Fan Fiction?
Megan: My oldest and dearest friend introduced me to the world of Twilight, demanding that I read the books. Later she sent me links to some awesome fanfiction sites and I was hooked.

CareMarie: Do you remember the first story you read?
Megan: The first fan fic I ever read was Wide Awake by AngstGoddess003 and I absolutely loved it.

CareMarie: Is there a story behind your pen name?
Megan: Haha. Yes, actually. In high school I was a bit of a tomboy. (Okay, maybe thats an understatement.) Most of my friends were, and still are, guys. We didn't have a whole lot in the way of entertainment in our town, so we had to make our own. Four wheel driving became a passion. We would go out on old trails and see who could push their truck to do the most. Eventually that morphed into more serious upgrades on vehicles and bigger trails. After high school friends of mine opened up a custom truck shop that specialized in outfitting trucks for off-roading. Working there, I met a lot of very cool people and found out about an amzing trail that was just a few hours away from where I live. The Rubicon Trail is out in the middle of nowhere (Geogretown, CA), so we would take long weekends to camp and drive. Some of my most amazing memories are out there.
Rock crawling (or 'four-wheel driving') is definitely a male dominated sport, so being one of the only girls driving, I became a bit of a legend, the guys started calling me the Rubicon Queen becuase I dared to try to go places that made half of the guys piss their pants. Anyway, the name stuck, so to this day, even though I don't make it out as often as I would like, I am still the reigning queen of off-roading. (This is a sport that not many people know about. Check out pirate4x4.com or rubicontrail.com to get an idea.)

CareMarie: What story (ies) are you reading right now?
Megan: Honestly? Too many! I have a very eclectic group of stories I am reading. As long as it is well written, I'll read it.

CareMarie: Do you have a favorite character and if so, why that character?
Megan: I really couldn't pick just one. I love the men of Twilight. Peter is a fave because you can basically do anything you want with him. There is no standard already set for what he should be like. I love Emmett because I love the strong, sexy, funny guy. Jasper fills the need for that dominant, confident, "soldier" that every girl loves. And Carlisle, well, I think we all have those naughty thoughts about the sexy older man. I really couldn't pick an absolute favorite.

--Stories--
CareMarie: First off, tell us a little bit about your stories:
Megan: I just started posting my first story, A Crimson Change, which is a Peter/Bella fic. It's a romance story at heart, even if there is some drama along the way. I wanted to portray a stronger Bella with a man who could handle her.

The other story, currently a o/s (but eventually a multi-chap) is Bella/Emmett. Right now, More is just a smutty little o/s, but I definitely want to expand it once ACC is finished. I have a few other ideas that I am working on when I have writer's block, so hopefully I'll be able to continue those into full stories.

CareMarie: Why did you pick the pairings that you did?
Megan: I chose Peter for Bella because I wanted to imagine what would happen if things had gone differently in New Moon. I don't think she would be meant for a mortal life after being thrust into a world of vampires and werewolves, but she would definitely need a strong male lead with her. Peter was a natural choice because I could mold him to fit my needs.

CareMarie: Do you have a favorite point of view to write in?
Megan: Honestly, I like writing from a guy's perspective. In ACC, we hear from Bella and Peter, as well as Garrett. It's easier for me to fall into the mindset of a guy, because I am around guys so much. I am not much of a girly girl.

CareMarie: Was there a part in the Twilight Saga that inspired you?
Megan: For A Crimson Change, that pivotal moment is Edward leaving Bella in the woods. I can't imagine how heartbreaking that would be to go through all that she did, only to be left behind.

CareMarie: How did you decide to post your stories?
Megan: Really, I just got brave enough one day to put it out there and see what people thought.

CareMarie: Have you ever changed your story outline based off of a review? If so, what was the review and what did you change?
Megan: No way. Honestly, I haven't had a bad review yet. I am really surprised at that! Every review has been amazing and I was truly blown away by the encouragement and positive reviews. I was actually almost disappointed that no one critiqued me on anything! I really just love hearing what people think, good or bad.

CareMarie: Do any of your characters in your story remind you of yourself?
Megan: My Peter is like the male version of me. Sarcastic, cocky, and a little bit of an ass, but still kind hearted and fiercely protective of the ones he loves.

CareMarie: What other stories are you working on?
Megan: Aside from trying to expand More, I have a mafia story in the works that I think will be a bit outside the norm. I want to finish ACC before I start posting anything else.
