What will happen to the girl who has everything?

After a rough start to life, Shannon Downing finally has it all. She has her Mr. Notice Me, she has reconnected with her long-lost mother, and she is the sole heiress to a multi-billion dollar company. The only problem is going public with that information.

Hidden away at a ranch in Texas at her mother’s insistence, Shannon’s world starts to crumble. Not only does she learn of Maisy Field’s kidnapping, but she hears a secret that could destroy everything and everyone she loves.

What will happen when news comes out that she is the missing heiress to Downing International? Will she become the next target for the elusive kidnappers? And what about the secret she overheard? Will the love that she and Mr. Notice me share be enough to hold them together?

** Warning: Spoilers of book one, Notice Me **

Embrace Me  starts close to where Notice Me ended. Shannon is moving on with her life with her Mr. Notice Me and her mother by her side as she begins to share the reins of Downing International. With Shannon as the lost heiress to the multi-billion company, her family and the company are keeping the transition and her identity from the public until she acclimates, but keeping her safe becomes even more perilous when their company and personal rival's daughter is abducted for ransom. Shannon not only becomes a hot story and news commodity but also a target, and the relationship she fought so hard for might crumble under her new fame.

Like the end of the first book, Embrace Me  pulled me in and I couldn't put the book down. This one was much better written. The dialog and relationships were more realistic. The pacing was smoother, a better balance between the romance and action. The twists were more abundant, with another shocker that I did not see coming in terms of people's identities.

I found the emotion a lot more palpable, as well. I appreciated how Mr. Notice Me wasn't perfect this time around, how he showed a breaking point, understandably so, and I liked how everything was resolved. Not all broken bridges could be mended, but old wounds could be salved enough so there are no regrets.

The highlights of Rebecca Turley's writing, though, are the relationships and characters' consistency. I enjoyed the interaction between everyone. Each dynamic was unique and felt genuine. There isn't heavy-handed telling. The admiration, the fear, or the frustration between everyone showed, and while each person grew, he or she didn't act out of character or shift so much that it was unbelievable.

A very satisfying sequel to the first book. Anyone who enjoyed Notice Me will like this one as much, if not more.
