He's addicted to booze. She's addicted to sex...staying sober is only half the battle.

No. More. Sex.

Those are the three words Lily Calloway fears the most. But Loren Hale is determined to be with Lily without enabling her dangerous compulsions. With their new living situation—sleeping in the same bed, for real, together—Lily has new battles. Like not jumping Lo’s bones every night. Not being consumed by sex and his body.

Loren plans to stay sober, to right all of his wrongs. So when someone threatens to expose Lily’s secret to her family and the public, he promises that he’ll do anything to protect her. But with old enemies surfacing, Lo has more at stake than his sobriety.

They will torment Lily until Lo breaks.

And his worst fear isn’t relapsing. He hears the end. He sees it. The one thing that could change everything. Just three words.

No. More. Us.

** Warning: Slight spoilers of the previous books **

There are no words to accurately express how addicted I am to this series. Addicted for Now became one of my most anticipated reads of 2013 after reading the first book, Addicted for You, to which I gave my rare rating of six stars. Thankfully, book two doesn't have a cliffhanger like the first installment, and the writing, plot, and character development are even better. Hard to believe since book one set the bar for NA Contemporary Romance for me.

Where book one focused on a girl sex addict and an alcoholic boy facing the fact they even had addictions and were alienating themselves on top of enabling each other, book two revolves around the struggle of battling those addictions, kindling relationships, and fighting so many other things—the internal and external forces.

Lo may just have returned from three months of rehab, but he still has difficulties, more so since he'll have access to booze and be around those who can drink. Lily's drive for sex is tested to the max. With Lo back, the temptation is much greater. She truly has to learn self-control and, more importantly, intimacy and trust. They both have major adjustments to make after they just made one by being apart for months. Their hurdles are endless as addicts, but it doesn't end there.

Someone threatens to reveal Lily's carefully hidden secret to media. Although Lo being an alcoholic is stereotypically no secret or surprise because he's a rich kid, Lily's addiction made public would have a devastating effect on more than just her life but also others', including her family's company as well as Lo's.

I found Lily incredibly brave in this book. The ridicule she alone would receive could break anyone, but add the fear of what her family would say and then do under the pressure? Well, she had strength that neither she nor I knew she had, and while heartbreaking because of the circumstances, it was also wonderful to see happen. Her depth was an ocean, and her growth a mountain! I wanted to cry-cheer for the girl.

I wish I could say the same for Lo. I still adore him as much as I did in the first book, but his personal development lacks compared to Lily's. Sometimes, his love for Lily comes off as a duty, a sense of obligation, like he owes her for her being there and waiting for him. But that's just me, how I felt. I understood him putting Lily first, yet I missed the genuine longing and need I always felt he had for her. Sure, the dynamics of their relationships changed—they had to lose the unhealthy dependency they had on each other, and his addiction doesn't rely on Lily at all as he does for hers—but I needed to feel that their connection somehow stayed both ways.

I did, however, find Lo's development with his brother, Ryke, amazing. All the secondary characters and relationships in this series are fabulous, actually. They make me laugh and cry and love them just as much as I do Lily and Lo, even more than I did before. They each have their own issues that are apparent and intertwine, especially in this book, creating more depth and a better plot that was already great to begin with from the start of the series. And even though the ending of the mystery didn't shock me, I found the end was perfect. I can't wait to read where the Ritchie sisters take these characters and how they end the trilogy.

If you haven't already started this series or are unsure whether you should, please do. With raw emotion, the best flawed characters, stunning plots, and authentically portrayed addictions, all delivered with a fluid writing, the Addicted series is a can't-miss. It is emotionally both an orgasmic high and bottle-bottom low that will leave you aching for more, maybe even excessively so.

New Adult Contemporary | Romance

No one would suspect shy Lily Calloway’s biggest secret. While everyone is dancing at college bars, Lily stays in the bathroom. To get laid. Her compulsion leads her to one-night stands, steamy hookups and events she shamefully regrets. The only person who knows her secret happens to have one of his own.

Loren Hale’s best friend is his bottle of bourbon. Lily comes at a close second. For three years, they’ve pretended to be in a real relationship, hiding their addictions from their families. They’ve mastered the art of concealing flasks and random guys that filter in and out of their apartment.

But when they go on a family boat trip, surrounded by open seas and limited male bodies in sight, Lily’s confronted with a big fear. Only one guy onboard can fill her addiction, and she’s sworn off going there with Loren Hale ever again.

Now the only person who can truly help her can barely help himself.

New Adult Contemporary | Romance | Companion novel

As a sex addict, Lily Calloway must do the impossible. Stay celibate for 90 days.

Cravings and fantasies become her new routine, but while Loren Hale recovers from his alcohol addiction, Lily wonders if he’ll realize what a monster she really is. After all, her sexual compulsions begin to rule her life the longer she stays faithful to him.

Progress. That’s what Lily’s striving for. But by trying to become closer to her family—people who aren’t aware of her addiction—she creates larger obstacles. When she spends time with her youngest sister, she learns more about her than she ever imagined and senses an unsettling connection between Daisy and Ryke Meadows.

With Lily and Lo’s dysfunctional relationship teetering and unbalanced, they will need to find a way to reconnect from miles apart. But the inability to “touch” proves to be one of the hardest tests on their road to recovery. Some love brushes the surface. Some love is deeper than skin.

Lily and Lo have three months to discover just how deep their love really goes.

** Companion to the sequel: A full-length New Adult Romance that continues where Addicted to You left off. As a companion novel, it bridges the gap between the first and second book. It is highly recommended to be read before Addicted for Now. **
