Waiting on Wednesday: Silver Shadows by Richelle Mead

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly book meme hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine,
spotlighting upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

Raina's pick this week:

Silver Shadows
by Richelle Mead
Bloodlines #5
Expected publication: July 29th, 2014 by Razorbill
Young Adult Paranormal Romance | Urban Fantasy

Sydney Sage is an Alchemist, one of a group of humans who dabble in magic and serve to bridge the worlds of humans and vampires. They protect vampire secrets—and human lives.

In The Fiery Heart, Sydney risked everything to follow her gut, walking a dangerous line to keep her feelings hidden from the Alchemists.

Now in the aftermath of an event that ripped their world apart, Sydney and Adrian struggle to pick up the pieces and find their way back to each other. But first, they have to survive.

For Sydney, trapped and surrounded by adversaries, life becomes a daily struggle to hold on to her identity and the memories of those she loves. Meanwhile, Adrian clings to hope in the face of those who tell him Sydney is a lost cause, but the battle proves daunting as old demons and new temptations begin to seize hold of him. . . .

Their worst fears now a chilling reality, Sydney and Adrian face their darkest hour in this heart-pounding fifth installment in the New York Times bestselling Bloodlines series, where all bets are off.

Why I'm waiting: There are no words. Having just read The Fiery Heart—twice—and rereading the entire VA and Bloodlines series, I'm living on a Mead high. Both series are favorites of mine, but I must say that Bloodlines is going to be even better than Vampire Academy. I was gutted with The Fiery Heart's ending. Yes, it's a cliffhanger, but it's so worth the read. As star-crossed lovers in a way that Rose and Dimitri were not, Sydrian give me this welling hope that they'll change worlds. I have no doubt they'll overcome what has befallen them. I just can't wait to read it. I'm even itching to return to fan fiction days and write it. July can't come fast enough.

On a side note … Besides the VA movie, I'm also waiting for the Bloodlines covers to be redone. Can't the outside match the awesomeness of the inside of these books? Anyone else feel the same?

  2. I heard a lot about Richelle Mead's books. I want to read this series too but I've not read the Vampire Academy yet. I hope I can read them all over the holiday.

  3. Ooh nice! So sad that I still haven't read Fiery Heart and you've read it twice?! I feel so ashamed! *hides face in utter, utter shame*

Looking forward to reading it, yet not looking forward to the July 29th wait of this one! That's too long of a wait!

And are the covers for Bloodlines being redone? Or is that your wishful thinking? I admit that the covers are kind of so-so with me. One day I like em, the next I find things I don't like!

    Here's my WoW

    Have a GREAT day!
