CareMarie: Tell us a little bit about yourself:
Zaytyll: Well, I'm 38 years old and live on the east coast of the U.S. I'm lucky enough that a good bit of my immediate family lives within an hour or two of my house, but strangely I don't really spend much time with them all. Mostly just two of my sisters, my niece and my brothers.

I love to read. My sisters handed me a romance novel when I was like 14 or so and I've adored them ever since. My favorites are the paranormal romances and my favorite author is Sherrilyn Kenyon. No one, ever, has compared to her. Vampires, werewolves, mythology, demons, and loads of fuckhot men. *fans self* Check her out. www.sherrilynkenyon.com She has profiles for ALL her characters, and I mean just about every single person in her series'.

For fun I like to watch TV shows and movies. For TV it's the CSIs, NCISs, Criminal Minds types for the most part. Movies it’s mostly horror, action and scifi/fantasy.

Most my time before I became a Twilight FF addict was spent gaming. MMORPGs (Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games). My favs were Star Wars Galaxies, Aion, City of Heroes, World of Warcraft, etc. I've played a good many of them in my time. The only non-MMO that I play is Sims 3.

I'm a gamer girl, what can I say? *grins* It comes from enjoying roleplaying so much, since I was a teen. When it was hard to find groups to do the tabletop stuff like Vampire: The Masquerade, Dungeons and Dragons, Rifts, Superheroes, etc., I got into MMO's as my roleplaying outlet. I even did some Twilight RP on Twitter, but haven't done in a few months now. Finding quality, dedicated RPers was incredibly difficult. Besides, not spending my time doing the Twilight RP means more time spent writing my fic. So I still get the creative outlet that I need. And I do tabletop gaming online via Skype with some friends once a week now too. So I"m all win all around for all that. (Lots of alls.)

Nowadays, most of my time is spent reading or writing fanfiction or doing something for our blog. www.wordybitches.com It’s a lot of fun. Lots of porn, and sarcasm, and did I mention porn? Oh and Twilight, almost forgot that. *laughs*

Um, not sure what else you wanna know, but just ask. I'm pretty open most the time. So feel free.

CareMarie: How did you get introduced into Fan Fiction?
Zaytyll: Oh, well, I saw the movie first and thought it was missing something, so I read the books then went and saw the movie a few more times. I actually really loved the books and movie at first. Don't judge. I was ignorant and naive.

Anyway, so I wanted more, so I went online reading Twilight stuff and stumbled across fanfiction at some site. I forget which. It was all over from there.

CareMarie: Do you remember the first story you read?
Zaytyll: I don't remember the name, but if I recall correctly, the first fic I read was about Twilight in Alice's POV. It was interesting, but I wanted more. And more. And more. I still want more. I'm a greedy bitch.

CareMarie: Is there a story behind your pen name?
Zaytyll: Zaytyll is a name I made up for my first Dungeons and Dragons character. She was a human ranger of Meilikki who fell in love with Cyric, the God of Death. She never acts on it, regardless of how much he pursued her. But he loved her too. It was dark and tragic. I even wrote a little story for her, a short one where he comes to her in her dreams. There was a lemon. Did I mention I like porn?

CareMarie: What story (ies) are you reading right now?
Zaytyll: I'm reading a few, but I'm GAGA over this one right now:
The Plan by QuantumFizzx Obsessed but unnoticed for over a year, she puts a plan in motion to catch the eye of corner-office Cullen. That's her plan. Fate has another plan entirely. B/E Rated M for a reason. DAILY UPDATES until complete - often more than 1 a day.

It's a real time story and the girls (Wordy Bitches) and I are freaking out at each update. Anticipation is high and we totally jones for updates, even counting minutes and shit. I just really love original stories and while the storyline itself is fairly simple, her method of writing and posting is original. You really just have to try it. You’ll get hooked, I swear. Don’t let the chapter count scare you. It should only take like an hour to read.

The chapters are pretty short – like a hundred words for some and up to like maybe 1000 for the longest?

Other than that, I have a MILLION fics on my To Be Read list. Okay, maybe not a million, but a LOT! I even have a spreadsheet to keep it all straight cuz I couldn't keep up with them all ages ago. It tells me what's how many chapters, how many I've read, pairing, rating, description, everything. I can be a bit of an anal organizer sometimes.

My lists consists of a lot of fics that I still need to read – some finished, some not. I didn't get to read much for the longest time, so now I'm playing catch up in between writing my own fic. Some of the ones I am or will be working on reading/catching up:
The Orbiting Meteor by IdreamofEddy
Running by MerinaGreen
A Change in Course by MissMaj
Almost every story written by wonderwoundedhearers
Hit and Run by lifelesslyndsey
Dark Temptation by MinnaKoda
Fates Winding Road by CareMarie
Alpha's Mate by KaiaLuna
Visions of our Destiny by ForksPixie

There are so many more. I have LOTS of reading to do!

CareMarie: Do you have a favorite character and if so, why that character?
Zaytyll: If you mean just a favorite character in the Twilight Saga then I'd have to say Marcus. His tragedy just draws me like no other character. I can't help but want to soothe his pain and I'm so tempted to do anything I can just to see a smile.

BUT, dumbasses who did the movie fucking suck on their research, cuz they equated the fact he's been around for 3000 years to him being physically decripit. IF they bothered to do their research, they'd know that was not the case. Sorry I get testy about this issue. Marcus is my baby. I love him.

Anyway, MY Marcus is one of two men - Michael Easton or Perttu Kivilaakso (from Apocalyptica, check out their video for I Don’t Care and you’ll see my Caius too). I'd use one or the other depending on the type of Marcus. The first, Michael Easton, is the Marcus from UB. But I have a fic idea that will use Perttu Kivilaakso for my Marcus. I think about Marcus a lot. I'm not obsessed, really...*shifty eyes*

--Stories--

CareMarie: First off, tell us a little bit about your stories:
Zaytyll: I loved reading fanfic, especially the Bella/Jasper stories, as Jasper is one of my favorites.

I'm Team Jasper right after Team Marcus. Anyway. I thought about what I wanted to write for a LONG time. Months. I didn't want to write anything too much like any other story, so I kept mulling it over and over. I eventually got up the courage to write Finally Found Love, a Bella/Edward fic surprisingly enough. But the story just worked that way, really. And it was a one shot. People seemed to like it though.

After that, I started working my idea for UB, doing a LOT of research, like months of it, before even starting to write. I got plot points thought out, backgrounds figured out, picked the celebrities to portray my characters, wrote descriptions of characters (physical and personality), everything. In fact, it was while I was working on Sera’s personality that I realized she was perfect for Marcus.

So then I tried to get a few chaps ahead before posting, but it didn't help for long. It takes a surprising amount of time to bust out a few thousand words. Then my first beta bailed on me and thankfully JaspersDestiny stepped up. She helps me a LOT with not only the betaing of my chapters, but also plot points and helping keep me on track, that my characters come across right, etc.

I had troubles getting some of the chapters written. The characters and writing wasn't coming across right and I kept putting it aside over and over. That was the start of my long silence. I got distracted by other things for a while, even though I occasionally would try to work out that next chapter. I tried every few weeks or so, but it didn't come together until about two months ago. I finally got Jasper down and since then the story is just gushing from me. So I'm trying to pop it out while my mojo is working. *grins*

CareMarie: Why did you pick the pairings that you did?
Zaytyll: I have loved the Bella/Jasper pairing since reading When Darkness Comes to Light by Janna Banana and Colliding Meteors by IdreamofEddy. I just think they work so well together. If I were her, then I'd be totally head over heels for Jasper. The life he lead, the obstacles he's overcome, his knowledge and abilities, he's just amazing. As for Bella, well think she's an interesting character if you mature her a bit and take out the ridiculousness from her personality that SM had in there.

CareMarie: Do you have a favorite point of view to write in?
Zaytyll: Marcus. He used to give me headaches trying to write his POV, but now it's almost natural. I love it. His old world speech and attitude is just so interesting. And his quiet surprise over Sera's antics. He's just fun to write nowadays.

CareMarie: Was there a part in the Twilight Saga that inspired you?
Zaytyll: The parts with the Volturi, even though I see them quite differently than SM does. I'm not much for the Cullens so much as Jasper and the Volturi. I've read the Bella saving Edward part in New Moon so many times...though not recently. I don't like the books or movies at all now. *laughs*

CareMarie: How did you decide to post your stories?
Zaytyll: I was originally updating once a week, but lately I've been updating as I finish editing chapters. I'm just too impatient really, and like to know what people think about my chapters - if they liked it or not, etc.

CareMarie: Have you ever changed your story outline based off of a review? If so, what was the review and what did you change?
Zaytyll: No, and I don’t plan to. I believe authors should write the stories THEY want to, for themselves. The fact they post the stories for others to read is a bonus for us. Now, if you aren't sure which way to go with something and ask advice from your readers, then I can get that. But I know when I write, the story just comes out. Often it follows the plot I had in mind, but sometimes I get a surprise because it just comes out a little different when I write it. Not sure if that happens for everyone, but it does for me. Makes for interesting twists in your story.

CareMarie: Do any of your characters in your story remind you of yourself?
Zaytyll: Hmm, I guess I'm more like Bella but Sera is who I wish I could be if I could lose my inhibitions and such. THAT would be fun. Besides, then I’d get Marcus and I wouldn't toss him outta bed for eating a powdered donut. *grins*
